This is a list of my most used Real Live People/Shops in London. This version has *real working links* and is by material; Machines, fabrics, wigs, etc. I’m getting a bit better w/this WordPress editor now :)

thesewingcentre.co.u   -Battersea Sewing supplies(Mainly machines, hard to get to with out car, but they deliver next day)( they have good servicemen recommendations as well.)

 HABERDASHERY/TRIMMINGS:

http://www.newtrimmings.net/ – around the corner from Barnett&Lawson often 30-50% less expensive, can order bulk as well.

assorted other shops on road; hats, costume jewelry,costumes, also 3 quality wool shops for suiting but can’t find them on look up.

WALTHAMSTOW MARKET (Walthamstow Central Victoria line tube, St.James Rail from Liverpool St. dir. Chingford)No websites for these shops but there are a dozen, (Haggle!)the best are:

-New Textile Co. near beginning of market, black sign w/neon green writing.

-Hussain Fabrics ( near end of market, furthest from station) consistent stock, all fabrics, fantasy fake furs, organzas,PVC, upholstery etc.52A High Street, Walthamstow, London E17 7LD, 020 8520 7676

-New Fabric Shop– right across the road from Hussains, good for wools,prints,lycras,Indian, satins, upholstery/brocade, interfacing

A bit further down are 2 competing super cheap “fell off the back of the lorry” fabric shops w/out of season fabrics, basics from .50p a metre.

 DALSTON/KINGSLAND MARKET (Dalston Kingsland Overground)Similar to Walthamstow, but Afro-Carribean fabrics rather than W’Stows Indian/Middle eastern. About 8 fabric “shops/stalls” along market.Haggle!

GOLDHAWK ROAD/SHEPARD’S BUSH (GOLDHAWK ROAD TUBE STN.)  7-8 fabric shops along road turning right out of station, market stalls at Shepards Bush Market. Haggle! A to Z has most consistent/bulk stock
